EVERYONE loves their pets.

Little, large, furry, slimy – whatever form they come, we cannot get enough of them.

To celebrate our beloved pets, we are today launching Star Pets, a competition to find the most photogenic animal in Ipswich and Felixstowe.

Is your pet the purrfect cat or the cutest pooch?

Does your hamster have that winning look or is your pony one to be proud of?

We want to see pictures of your pets – from horses to hamsters, cats to canaries, goldfish to geckos – in any shape or size.

Simply take a picture of your pet and send it in to us with your contact details to have a chance of winning.

Tell us their name, age, breed, likes and dislikes.

All submitted photographs will be printed in a special supplement to be published later in the year.

Star Pets also wants to hear from you if you have a courageous cat, a daring dog or a heroic hamster.

We have teamed up with Vets Now, the UK’s leading provider of out-of-hours emergency veterinary care, to launch an extra special Vets Now category for Ipswich’s most courageous pet.

Has your pet survived a serious illness, recovered from an horrific accident, acted bravely or heroically dared to help you or another person?

If this sounds like your pet, then nominate them for the Vets Now courageous pet award.

The victorious animal will win a special pet goody bag as a reward.

Vets Now in Ipswich provides a dedicated out-of-hours veterinary service run by a team of professionals who work only nights, weekends and public holidays to provide out-of-hours emergency cover for local vets. Vets Now also have premises in Melton.

The overall winner will receive a photographic studio session and a 16x16 canvas wrap picture of their pet courtesy of Studio Bushfire, while two runners-up will each receive a gift voucher for a studio session and four 7x5 prints.
