FIREFIGHTERS were called in to action to tackle a blaze on a school playing field.
The drama unfolded at Westbourne Sports College in Marlow Road, Ipswich, shortly after 2.50pm today.
Firefighters from the town’s Colchester Road headquarters attended. They discovered a small area of undergrowth alight.
The crew used a water back pack to extinguish the blaze by 3.25pm.
