FORMER Ipswich Town ace Connor Wickham has been reunited with his beloved dog after an anxious few days of searching for the missing pooch.

The 18-year-old, now plying his trade up north with Sunderland, was devastated by the disappearance of pet pug Louis last Wednesday morning.

But the striker, who had launched a desperate appeal for help from his Twitter followers, delightedly announced on the site last night that eight-month-old Louis had returned home.

He declared: “Wooohoooo! My boy is home!

“Thank you for all your support....so happy he is finally home and in very good condition!”

It is unclear how eight-month-old Louis found his way back home to Ponteland in Northumberland, which is near Newcastle.

However, his return followed a frantic poster campaign by Wickham.

At the time of the disappearance, he was concerned that his dog needed regular treatment to his eyes or could otherwise go blind.
