BRIGHTLY-COLOURED powders, dyes and paints will be thrown around a town park to celebrate the start of a new season this weekend.
Suffolk’s first Holi Festival of Colour will be held at Holywells Park on Sunday, after previously being postponed due to bad weather.
The free event is intended to mark the start of spring.
People are invited to come down to the park from 2.30pm to 5.30pm to throw brightly-coloured paints and powders over one another.
There will also be a bonfire, henna hand painting, Indian snacks, music and singing.
The festival has been organised by the borough council, the Ipswich and Suffolk Indian Association and the Hindu Samaj. Visitors are encouraged to bring a change of clothes if they are taking part in the paint throwing.
