A 46-year-old man was arrested yesterday following a collision in Bramford Road in Ipswich on Monday where a woman died.

The single vehicle collision, involving a white Vauxhall Combo van, happened at approximately 11.10pm on Monday.

The vehicle was in collision with a wall and traffic lights close to the junction with Sproughton Road.

A woman in her 40s from Ipswich who was driving the van was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, from Ipswich, has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Meanwhile, police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision.

A police spokesman asked anyone who saw the vehicle travelling along Bramford Road either prior to or when the collision happened are asked to call the joint Norfolk and Suffolk major investigation team on 101 quoting IW/14/3495 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
