Ipswich: Man charged in connection with stabbing in Gibbons Street

OFFICERS have today charged a man in connection with a stabbing in Ipswich.

Two people were arrested by armed police yesterday at a property in Clifton Street, Norwich, in relation to the incident in Gibbons Street, Ipswich, last Tuesday.

Patrick Smith, 21, of Thackeray Road, Ipswich, has been charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

An 18-year-old woman, from Norwich, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on bail and is due to return to Wymondham police investigation centre on August 30.
