A video tribute to David Bowie posted online by a former Ipswich schoolboy has been watched more than 3million times since the singer’s death on Sunday.

Nicholas Freestone, 24, formerly of St John’s Primary School, is now the organ scholar at St Alban’s Cathedral and on Monday posted a video of himself playing a moving rendition of Bowie’s Life on Mars on the cathedral’s organ onto Facebook.

The post has been liked 48,562 times, shared 78,679 times and attracted more than 3,000 comments.

Taking to Facebook to share his thanks, Mr Freestone said he was “humbled” with the response the video had generated.
