East Town Bottle Shop & Tap Room artwork, created by Ipswich-based artist Jacob Elgaard
Ipswich’s first micropub East Town Bottle Shop & Tap Room has unveiled a mural created by Suffolk artist Jacob Elgaard.
The urban street-themed wall took Jacob four days to complete at the pub, in Lloyds Avenue, and features hops, beer equipment and a sprawling cityscape.
Landlord Marc Walker said: “The artwork reflects East Town’s place as a temple to beer and the pub’s urban, industrial feel. We’re delighted with Jacob’s creation.
“It had always been our intention to decorate the interior with a funky, contemporary street art mural but it took some time to find the right artist. We wanted to steer clear of hackneyed pub decor like horse brasses and framed vintage photos of the local area.” See more here
