THE ATTIC nightclub in Ipswich has closed its doors for the final time.The venue was a popular nightspot throughout the 90s and catered for clubbers interested in drum and base and hip-hop music.

THE ATTIC nightclub in Ipswich has closed its doors for the final time.
The venue was a popular nightspot throughout the 90s and catered for clubbers interested in drum and base and hip-hop music.
The club in St Helen's Street is believed to have had its farewell party shortly after Christmas.
The Attic together with a number of surrounding properties, including S&I Hair and Beauty saloon and Orchard Street car park will be demolished and replaced with residential housing.
Ipswich Borough Council has received a planning application from The Fairfield Partnership, based in Stevenage, for 24 town houses and ten flats. The council has agreed the application in principle, conditions outstanding.

In October 2000, Director of Disc Legend Ltd, David Davies, of Thorney Road, Capel St Mary, whose company owned the Attic Nightclub, was taken to the High Court for playing music at the premises without a licence. He was ordered to pay legal fees of £1,050 and told to bring his music licence up to date.
