POLICE are investigating after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in an area of woodland in Ipswich.
Officers received a call just after 5am yesterday morning, stating that a woman –who had been looking for a friend near to Downside Close – had been approached by a man.
The 20-year-old reported that the man had then pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
An initial account was taken from the woman and a specially trained officer will be speaking to her again to get a full account of what happened.
It is the fourth sex attack to take place in Ipswich in just two months.
This incident has followed a sex assault which took place at about 11.20pm on Sunday when a man approached a 19-year-old woman on Belstead Road and demanded her phone.
Anyone who was in the area at the time or has information in relation to this incident, is asked to contact DS Chris Hinitt at Ipswich CID on 01473 613500 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
