THE first flurries of snow did not deter Ipswich Christmas shoppers today as they made their way through streets dusted with white.
Gentle snowfall brought dreams of a white Christmas one step closer as freezing winds from Russia bought a festive covering to the town.
Shops were busy as picture postcard scenes sparked seasonal cheer on the high street.
But wintry conditions did not seem to cause havoc on the roads, as motorists made their way carefully through the treacherous conditions.
Weather experts predict three to four inches of snow will fall today and tomorrow, with heavier snowfall expected on Friday
