A GROUP of travellers who parked up at a town car park have been evicted by the borough council.
Ipswich Borough Council launched legal action against in hopes of recovering possession of land at popular beauty spot Orwell County Park.
It isn’t known when the travellers parked up at Bridge Wood car park, which belongs to the council, however councillors assumed it was the same group that had left the location at the beginning in March.
After appearing at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where the borough council was granted an eviction order, the travellers were forced to leave the site.
A spokeswoman for the borough council said: “We got the eviction order which was then served. The travellers have since left the site.”
