TRUCKERS faced diversions at Felixstowe today after a lorry jack-knifed and blocked one of the main routes into the port.
The juggernaut – belonging to RH Freight Services – skidded on the wet road and crossed a path and slid up a bank, completely demolishing a lamp-post.
It then slid back down onto Trinity Avenue under the bridge, blocking the lane leading to Dock Gate Number Two roundabout.
Police coned off the road and lorries and cars heading for the port from the Safeway sliproad off the A14 had to turn down Blofield Road and Parker Avenue to reach the northern container terminals.
Police said the driver was not injured in the crash.
