SCORES of jobs are to go at Suffolk's Endeavour House headquarters after a shake-up was approved by members of the authority.

The Evening Star revealed the job cuts last week, and now county councils have voted to implement the “Securing the Future” programme which will see at least 79 administration posts lost - the eventual job losses could total 116.

The move was approved at yesterday's meeting of the full council.

After the full council meeting yesterday, council leader Jeremy Pembroke added: “This proposed re-organisation is just one part of changes needed to ensure we 'live within our means'.”

But union leaders have expressed doubts that cutting at least 79 jobs out of the 464 full-time posts in strategic centre functions would not have an impact on the delivery of services.
