FIREFIGHTERS have put out the latest in a series of blazes in Rushmere Heath today.
A fire in three cubic metres of hay broke out at about 7.45am and was under control by just before 8.30am.
The fire follows a number of fires in Rushmere Heath in recent weeks.
Following a trio of arson attacks at Rushmere Golf Club in the heath on Friday, February 15, Ian Bowell, community fire safety officer, said: “If we are at one place we can't be at another incident.
“These people could be putting lives at risk.
“If someone is keeping us busy through fires or making malicious calls we can't carry out our job which is rescuing people.”
