TODAY The Evening Star launches a massive £50,000 community bid to bring Karen Hales' killer to justice.
The popular 21-year-old was stabbed to death before being set on fire in her Lavenham Road home on November 21, 1993.
Now, in the hope securing a major breakthrough in the inquiry, The Star has joined with its partners to spearhead a major new appeal aimed at solving the 12-year-old murder mystery.
The move has been welcomed by Karen's family, who are desperate to find some sort of closure on the tragedy.
Angela, one of Karen's sisters, said today: “We still want answers. We've had 12 years and there hasn't been any and that's hard.”
