A MAN was shot dead in a street today.
The victim, who is believed to be in his 20s, was found with gunshot wounds in Lakeside Road, West Kensington, west London, just after 4pm.
An air ambulance was called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not formally identified the victim but said inquiries are under way. No arrests have been made.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “We must retain an open mind regarding the circumstances and any motive at this very early stage.”
An incident room will be opened, and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course, police said.
