Lorry driver set to face prison for crash which killed Kesgrave father Colin Fisk on A140

A lorry driver is facing an immediate prison sentence after admitting causing the death of a Kesgrave man and seriously injuring his seven-year-old daughter by dangerous driving.
Before Ipswich Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing today was Dalius Matulaitis, 51, of Rectory Gardens, Wisbech.
He pleaded guilty to causing the death of Colin Fisk by dangerous driving on the A140 on July 25.
He also admitted causing serious injury to Mr Fisk’s seven-year-old daughter by dangerous driving on the same date.
Sentence was adjourned until September 14 and Matulaitis, a Lithuanian national with no previous convictions, was remanded in custody.
The tragedy happened at around 11.20am on the A140 near Brockford.
Two lorries collided and one of them hit 43-year-old Mr Fisk’s Renault Megane, which overturned and was crushed by one of the HGVs.

Mr Fisk’s daughter suffered two broken collarbones in the accident.
Michael Crimp, prosecuting, said the defendant had entered his pleas in a basis and the defence wasn’t asking for a pre-sentence report.
He said it was acknowledged the offences were likely to attract an immediate prison sentence.
