BATON twirlers in Suffolk are being invited to take part in a majorette competition that will be staged at a star-studded event headlined by chart toppers Blue.

The contest is open to troupes from across East Anglia and will be held as part of Reach Out 2002 on September 8.

The spectacular show, being held at Norfolk Showground in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices, promises to be a great day for pop lovers.

As well as Blue, there will be performances by top acts including Liberty X, 3SL, Rik Waller and Claire Sweeney.

It will be a fun day for all the family with activities and live performances by these professional stars as well as amateur groups from 10am to 9pm.

And a corner of the showground will be transformed into Giggle City, with more than 30 inflatable activities including bungee runs, gladiator jousts, bucking broncos and bouncy castles.

The majorette challenge will therefore be just one of the many events taking place throughout the day at Reach Out 2002.

Sponsored by Felixstowe-based Anglia Artistes, it will be held in the Grand Ring at the showground and is open to all troupes in the region.

Groups wanting to take part should contact Anglia Artistes on 01394 283159.
