A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats and damage to property in Ipswich after an hour-long hunt by officers.

Suffolk Constabulary was alerted at 3.25pm that a man aged in his 20s had allegedly made threats and caused damage to a property in Ipswich.

A force spokeswoman said: “A search was made to locate him and just before 4pm the man was spotted by officers.

“He was detained in the St Matthews Street area around 4.25pm following a foot chase.”

It is not yet clear where he is alleged to have caused damage, or to whom he is alleged to have threatened.
