A man has been arrested on suspicion of wounding after two women and two men were injured outside a Felixstowe church.

It is understood an alleged altercation occurred as a children’s party was being held inside Trinity Methodist Church in Hamilton Road.

A 28-year-old woman sustained a broken tooth and reddening to one of her cheeks, while a man sustained injuries to his hand.

A 37-year-old man suffered swelling to his face and bruising to his arm. Another woman was left with pain to one of her hands and her head.

Anne-Marie Breach, a spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary, said a 32-year-old man from the Felixstowe area had been detained by police on suspicion of wounding.

After being questioned by police he was released on bail pending further enquiries.

The suspect must now return to a police investigation centre on August 3.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident – which occurred at around 4pm to 4.15pm on Sunday, June 14 - or who has information about the altercation to contact them.
