A MAN believed to be in his 20s was killed today when he was hit by a train in Suffolk.
Emergency services were called to the Cattisill foot crossing, a mile from Bury St Edmunds, at 12.40pm after the train driver reported the accident.
The train involved was travelling from London's Liverpool Street to Peterborough and was travelling at 75mph when it hit the man.
The driver, who was left shaken but did not have medical treatment, reported the man running onto the line in front of the train.
