A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital this morning after falling from his bicycle in Ipswich.

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) were called just before 9am to Cavendish Street, off Fore Hamlet, after receiving reports that someone had come off their bicycle.

When the ambulance crew got to the scene, they treated the cyclist who had suffered an injury to his face.

A spokesman for the trust said although the man did not receive any life-threatening or life-changing injuries as a result of the accident, he was taken to Ipswich Hospital for further treatment.

He said: “The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received a call at just before 9am on August 7 to Cavendish Street in Ipswich.

“An ambulance crew attended in under five minutes to a man, believed to be in his 20s, who had suffered a facial injury.

“He was taken to Ipswich Hospital for further care.”
