AN elderly man had been taken to hospital after crashing his car into a wall today.

The 70-year-old suffered facial injuries and a possible broken ankle after the accident in Rotheram Road, Bildeston, around 10am.

It is believed the man may have accidentally got his foot stuck on the accelerator of his white Ford Fiesta causing the smash which destroyed a bollard.

He was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital but it is not yet known how serious his injuries are.
