A 20-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of Ipswich teenager Tavis Spencer Aitkens remains on bail.

He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder as part of the investigation into the 17-year-old’s death in Packard Avenue on June 2.

Police said: “He remains on bail with the authority of the magistrates’ court, until a date to be fixed by the court.”

Meanwhile, the trial of six people charged with murder could be delayed if a judge gives barristers more time to prepare. The trial is due to take place at crown court on November 26. A hearing to decide if the trial should instead begin next year was adjourned until later this month by a judge on Monday.

The six accused are Aristote Yenge, 22, of no fixed address; Adebayo Amusa, 20, of Sovereign Road, Barking; Callum Plaats, 23, no fixed address; Isaac Calver, 18, of St Helen’s Street, Ipswich; Leon Glasgow, 41, no fixed address; and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named.
