Engineers from EDF Energy Networks are working as quickly as possible to restore electricity to all their customers.
Power supplies were initially interrupted to 1,565 customers at 12.17pm and supplies have now been restored to the majority of properties.
However 390 customers are still without power.
A spokeswoman for EDF Energy Networks said: “We do appreciate how difficult it is to be without power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
