POLICE in Suffolk issued an advanced weather warning tonight urging the county to brace itself for winds in excess of 75mph tomorrow.
Suffolk Constabulary said forecasters are predicting a period of strong winds between 3am and 10pm tomorrow.
It said this is likely to mean Operation Stack will be brought into force on the approach to the Port of Felixstowe during tomorrow and urged hauliers to make appropriate arrangements should it be introduced.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said the force would like to remind hauliers to queue on the outside lane and leave the inside lane for local traffic on the approach to the Port of Felixstowe.
She added that hauliers should contact the port for information on whether it has closed during tomorrow but the force would reveal updates as and when they happened.
