A MURDER investigation has been launched by Norfolk Police following the discovery of a woman's body covered in mud.The body of 42-year-old Marzewa Karbowniak, a Polish national, was found just off a footpath near the Water Meadows in Thetford on Monday.
A MURDER investigation has been launched by Norfolk Police following the discovery of a woman's body covered in mud.
The body of 42-year-old Marzewa Karbowniak, a Polish national, was found just off a footpath near the Water Meadows in Thetford on Monday.
A police spokesman said it was thought the woman had been sleeping rough in the town. She had lived in the UK for the past two years and had family in Poland. A post-mortem examination revealed that she was severely beaten to death.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Officers want to hear from anyone who may have her in the hours leading up to her death or from anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the Water Meadows area.
