Everyone loves looking back to their schooldays – and how different it was to today.
The obvious change is the technology now used by students and by teachers with blackboards and chalk a distant memory for today’s classes used to whiteboards and the internet constantly connected.
Back in 1977, when the most glamorous piece of technology was a pocket calculator, replacing the old log table books, an Ipswich Star photographer spent a morning at Nacton Heath School in Ipswich, capturing a day in the life of the pupils.
There was a wide variety of learning and activities taking place across the school – from getting to grips with the latest technology– cumbersome computers – to keyboard skills on typewriters, cookery, science, woodwork and volleyball in PE.
