Originally from Woodbridge, Nate will appear on Later…With Jools Holland at 11.35pm on BBC 2.
Pre-recorded earlier this week the show also includes performances by Morrisey and Brighton-based indie band British Sea Power.
Nate, 28, said: “It was a great experience. Jools introduced me as Nate James from Suffolk which was great. It made me very proud.”
Performing two tracks - Choke and Back To You from his latest album Kingdom Falls, Nate admitted he was nervous.
He added: “It was a long day but it is one of the biggest music shows on TV so it was great to go on there.
“I got to meet Jools and Morrisey and we swapped stories and chatted, it was amazing.”
Nate is currently preparing for a six week tour of the US.
