Nativity plays delight parents

CHILDREN all over Suffolk are enjoying the build-up to the big day - and the chance to each be a little Christmas star.

With just five days to go, people are frantically finishing their Christmas shopping, posting the last of the cards and wrapping presents to put under the tree.

But at nurseries, pre-schools and primary schools across the county, youngsters are taking a step back from the hurly burly of the festive season to look at the story of the birth of Jesus, the reason for the celebration.

At Sprites Primary School in Ipswich, children in years three to six presented their annual Christmas entertainment for relatives and guests with nearly 200 children taking part in The Meaning of Christmas.

In Felixstowe, tiny tots were performing their nativity play at St Andrew's Pre-School.

St Andrew's Church Hall, St Andrews Road, was packed with parents and other relatives to see the youngsters perform - several of them making their first appearance on stage, with the enchanting nativity a first step for many would-be actors.

At Kersey Primary, the fabulous production of There's Something Amazing Going On was performed by the whole school with 53 children aged four to 11 years singing, dancing and acting.

The production, with the nativity as its focus, let the true meaning of Christmas shine through to the audience of more than 150 parents and friends.
