COMMUTERS from East Anglia were today hit by delays on the M25 following an accident near the Dartford toll bridge.
The collision between two vehicles came on the day that charges to use the crossings changed.
The accident occurred on the Kent-bound carriageway at around 6.15am just before the bridge and caused delays of up to 30 minutes.
Traffic disruption in the opposite direction was minimal although it is thought the toll price changes were causing some confusion. The price of crossing the River Thames for cars has increased from £1 to £1.50 - but it is free to use during the middle of the night.
