A POPULAR charity walk which had to be postponed earlier this year due to inclement weather has been rescheduled.

The Orwell Walk, organised by the Rotary Club of Ipswich East and now in its 33rd year, will take place on September 7, starting at Amberfield School in Nacton.

It had been due to be staged in June, but heavily rainfall left much of the route impassable.

Since its creation, the walk has raised more than £1million for worthy causes.

There are three walks on offer. The first is 11 miles, the second is 18 miles while the most challenging is 25 miles.

Those who sign up will enjoy the sights of Bridge Wood, Felixstowe Docks, Levington and Nacton.

Around 1,200 are expected to take part.

Entry is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children.

To register, walkers need to contact Norman Haines by calling 01473 215333.

Alternatively, it is possible to turn up and register on the day.
