A DREAM to bring university life to Suffolk is set to become reality today as the first students enroll on courses at University Campus Suffolk (UCS).
Medical undergraduates are to become the first to join UCS, which is based at Ipswich's waterfront and has several other satellite sites around the county.
More are due to sign up next week.
Estimates suggest that UCS, a collaboration between the University of East Anglia and Essex University, will be worth around £1million to the county's economy.
The landmark campus building, costing around £20m, is currently under construction and will be due for completion next summer.
Pro vice chancellor and chief executive Bob Anderson, and director of planning and resources, Richard Lister, were today at Suffolk New College, which will house UCS initially, to meet new students.
