A YOUNG Ipswich woman is hoping to prove a cut above the rest after opening her own hair salon at the age of 21.
Nicola Sutton took the plunge to open Foxhall Hair Designs, on Foxhall Road, Ipswich, after planning the venture for six months with her step father.
“I had been in a Woodbridge salon for five-and-a-half years and was self-employed there so I already worked for myself,” she said.
“Every now and again you just take that leap.
“I have been thinking about it for a good six months and the opportunity came up so I took it.”
Ms Sutton has set up the business along with her step father.

The entire building was refurbished and redesigned before the doors opened for trade last month.
She said the whole experience has been good with business so far proving brisk.
“It has been really good,” she said.
“The passing trade has been a lot more than I thought it would be.
“We could be busier but that is the way when you first open.
“Hopefully in the future I can employ more staff and expand and make more of it.
