RESIDENTS living near Wattisham Airfield could experience increased noise next week when the Army undergoes some basic training.

Troops based at the Suffolk airfield will be conducting a range of battle simulation training towards the southern end of the site, including blank firing and the use of explosives to create the sound of a battle.

The training will run from Tuesday to Friday and will be confined to daylight hours.

The training is designed to ensure troops are always ready for operations overseas as and when required.
