An 82-year-old man who set himself the challenge of travelling around England on his bus pass has made his stop in Ipswich.
It was Malcolm Metcalf’s last destination before his home run back to Great Yarmouth, where he started on April 2. Mr Metcalf spent the night on Friday in the Carlton Hotel in Berners Street and had a meal in The Cricketers pub, arranged by the East Coast Hospice, for which Mr Metcalf is doing the journey and so far raised almost £3,000.
Travelling for up to nine hours per day and spending just one or two nights in each location, Mr Metcalf said the expedition had, at times, been rather tiring.
However, he is no stranger to adventure - having been to 52 different countries in his life.
