OFFICE workers are getting on their marks for an Olympics-style event to test their sporting prowess.

Businesses at Ipswich Ransomes Europark are getting in training for a fun charity challenge which will feature events including the office chair relay and an inflatable hurdles race.

The Ransomes Olympics, in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices, takes place at 5.30pm on Wednesday, September 24 at the Europark's Next Generation Club.

Organisers, accountants and business advisers PKF East Anglia, have replaced traditional Olympics sports with a host of alternatives, including a fancy dress challenge and a three-legged race.

Gordon Hopkins, a member of PKF's social committee, said: “We see this as a great business community event. We are looking for teams of four, from the 100 or so businesses here, to join the fun for such a good cause.”

Firms on the business park are invited to field teams. All applicants must be aged over 18.

Anyone interested in taking part can contact Ramona Tipton-Woods at PKF on 01473 320700 or email Ramona.tipton-woods@uk.pkf.com.

Entry costs £10 per person and the closing date is Friday, August 29.
