At least one person has been seriously injured in an accident involving a car and a lorry which had been parked in a lay-by on the A14.
The accident occurred in a lay-by on the eastbound carriageway of the road between Seven Hills and Kirton at around 11.30pm on Wednesday. It is believed that the car collided with the back of the lorry, which was stationary.
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said that at least one person had been injured in what she described as a “serious” collision and that the road had been closed to traffic.
The Highways Agency was called in to set up a diversion with the carriageway likely to be shut for much of the night.
