Police are investigating a suspected arson and theft of two cars in Ipswich yesterday morning.
Suffolk police officers were called to Fircroft Road at around 4.45am to reports of a car on fire.
A Suffolk police spokeswoman said that the car – a red Ford Fiesta – is believed to have been stolen from outside a home in Henley Road.
Officers are linking it with the theft of a second car – a black Ford Focus – also from Henley Road, which recovered undamaged in Dales Road.
The force spokeswoman added that it is believed the fire was started deliberately.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue sent one crew from Princes Street to put out the flames shortly after 5am.
A spokesman said the fire was of “doubtful origin”.
