Stars of The New Wolsey Theatre’s rock ‘n’ roll panto dropped in to entertain residents with a festive song and dance at The Lodge care home, Ipswich, on Friday.

The cast, who are performing The Sword in the Stone this year, played some of the shows numbers to a dozen residents who were delighted with the cast’s performance. Sandra Liburd, assistant care manager at The Lodge said: “It was brilliant.

“They played quite a few songs and the residents were singing and did some dancing.

“They all enjoyed it very much.”

The Wolsey cast have made the car home visit an annual tradition in recent years, performing to the residents many of whom suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Miss Liburd added: “Not everyone can take part because we house people with dementia and Alzheimer’s, but the majority do and everyone was singing and aware of what was going on.”
