WOODBRIDGE-based theatrical group The Company of Four Musical Theatre Company is presenting its latest pantomime Aladdin this half term.

A spokeswoman for the group said: “Christmas if often thought of as a more traditional time of year to go and see a family pantomime but we have been presenting the annual pantomime at February half term since 1972.

“With call-backs galore for your favourite characters, audiences far and wide continue to book early to ensure they get a ticket to what has, over the years, become a truly fantastic show with spectacle, music and dancing, dazzling costumes and guaranteed laughter for the whole family.”

This year's production, which has a 60-strong cast, can be seen at The Riverside Theatre until February 16.

The spokeswoman added: “Aladdin, a poor washerwoman's son falls for the beautiful princess Lotus Blossom.

“In his urgent need for wealth, he is tricked into accompanying the wicked Abanaza on an expedition to retrieve a magic lamp.

“When Aladdin fails to hand over the lamp Abanaza traps him in a cave. With no way of escape and time on his hands Aladdin starts to clean the old lamp when a genie appears.

“With the aid of his magic, Aladdin escapes with gold and treasures and, after a few twists and turns, love triumphs.”

With plenty of opportunity to boo, hiss and cheer, Aladdin promises to be a magical, fun time for children of all ages.
