Roy Turnham and his guide dog Pudsey went to Castle Hill Infant and Junior School today as part of the Sports for Schools charity programme.

Emmanuel Ogundiran, Year 2 teacher and sports coordinator at Castle Hill, said: “I thought it would be a great opportunity for the children to hear from someone who has really achieved something special.”

Roy, who was born blind, encouraged the children as they took part in a fitness course and at the end of the day he gave a whole school assembly where he spoke about his journey.

“The pupils really enjoyed it, we have had a lot of positive feedback,” Mr Ogundiran added. “They listened intently to the assembly and asked really poignant questions.”
