A man was in hospital with a head injury on Thursday night after being involved in a collision with a car in Ipswich.
The collision involving the silver Peugeot 307 and the 44-year-old pedestrian took place in Civic Drive at around 7.40pm, police said.
Emergency services initially feared the man had suffered a serious head injury.
However, after being taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital for a full assessment, the head injury was described as not serious, a spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said.
No arrests were made at the scene last night.
A stretch of Civic Drive at the junction with Princes Street was closed for more than an hour before reopening shortly after 9pm.
A police cordon was put in place while officers carried out an investigation.
