SUFFOLK Police are warning people to be on their guard after bogus callers targeted the home of 76-year-old woman.The incident happened at an address in Burwell Road, Exning, Nr Newmarket, yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened at an address in Burwell Road, Exning, Nr Newmarket, yesterday afternoon.
At around 12.45pm a man called at the woman's home saying that he needed to check her property as there was a water leak next door. The man was shown through to the bathroom and after engaging the pensioner in conversation for a few minutes he then left, saying he would call back later.
A moment later the woman was startled to find another man standing at the bottom of her stairs and ordered him to leave.
A search had been made of the room's but nothing was stolen.

White, late 30's thin build, around 5ft 5inch tall, wearing a navy blue boiler suit.
White, late teens to early 20's, thin build, around 5ft 2inch, black cropped air, wearing a navy blue boiler suit.
Police are repeating their warnings for people to be vigilant and not to let any unknown callers into their homes without checking for official identification first. If in doubt, keep them out – and dial 999.
