A TERMINALLY ill pensioner is feared dead today after an extensive air and sea rescue search failed to find him.An RAF helicopter from Wattisham, along with police and a lifeboat from Gorleston, searched the coast of Great Yarmouth which was called off after several hours.

A TERMINALLY ill pensioner is feared dead today after an extensive air and sea rescue search failed to find him.

An RAF helicopter from Wattisham, along with police and a lifeboat from Gorleston, searched the coast of Great Yarmouth which was called off after several hours.

Phillip Coleman, 65, of Links Road, Gorleston, was last seen at 4.55pm yesterday and has not been seen since.

He is described as medium height and of a slim build.

He was wearing a beige knitted jumper, navy jogging bottoms, brown lace-up shoes and a green wax jacket.

His bicycle was found abandoned at Great Yarmouth harbour around 9pm yesterday.

Mr Coleman was said to be terminally ill with cancer and reports from the coastguard said a he had left a suicide note.
