SUFFOLK has today come to the rescue of Ipswich Town – giving the football club a welcome cash boost as it seeks to return to the top flight.
Accountants are today due to announce that the club's share issue has been successful – soaring past the £1.25 million lower limit set by the club.
And some club insiders think the money raised by fans and businesses could top the £2 million mark when it is finally counted later today.
The club is also expected to continue accepting share applications for another few days after the initial cut-off figure was reached.
