PETROL prices continued to slide this week but there was no change to the cheapest price for diesel in the area.

Supermarkets led the way again with unleaded prices, as Morrison's in Sproughton Road and ASDA in Whitehouse lowered their prices to 91.9p per litre.

But diesel costs only changed slightly, as some stores nudged prices down to join last week's cheapest at 106.9p per litre, and Sainsbury's in Warren Heath edged ahead at 106p.

There was very little variation in cost, with the gaps between the cheapest and most expensive prices closing to just 4p for unleaded and 3.9p for diesel.

The only major jump in the diesel market was BP in Meredith, which set the highest price last week at 110.9p per litre, but this week dropped 3p to 107.9p per litre.

Stowmarket was the most expensive place to buy fuel, with both filling stations setting the highest prices in unleaded at 95.9p per litre and diesel, with BP in Felixstowe, at 109.9p per litre.
