Hundreds of eager readers packed into Portman Road to take part in a book quiz, create their own fictitious characters and read with their footballing heroes back in 2003.
Pupils from Ipswich schools including Thurleston High School and Henley Primary School were invited to the Big Read which was hosted at club.
Pictures were captured on the day by one of our photographers as pupils gathered junk to make fictitious characters and puppets from Norwich puppet Theatre were held over their heads.
Ipswich Town players Richard Naylor and Alun Armstrong attended this fun session, reading books with pupils on the pitch.
