Crash involving car and pedestrian closes road in Ipswich

A pedestrian remains in a “serious condition” in hopital this morning after being involved in a collision with a car.
Emergency services were called to the incident in Wellington Street around 4.50pm yesterday.
The pedestrian suffered a head injury and the street was closed between the junctions of Bramford Road and Little Bramford Lane while emergency services dealt with the incident at the scene.
The road reopened around 9.25pm.
The collision involved a blue Vauxhall Zafira and a pedestrian.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.
A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said last night that the pedestrian’s injuries were described as serious.
